BoardWise Joins OpenAI's Astra for Law Ecosystem

    MattSeptember 18, 2026

BoardWise started with a problem that felt almost invisible.

A licensed professional receives a letter from a board. Suddenly, years of education, work, and professional identity feel like they could be hanging in the balance. The instructions are often technical. The process is unfamiliar. And figuring out what to do next can feel remarkably lonely.

We built BoardWise for that moment.

Today, that work is taking another step forward: BoardWise is included as a plugin in OpenAI's new Astra for Law ecosystem.

OpenAI launched Astra for Law as a new foundation for professional legal work, combining its latest AI capabilities with legal-specific search, instructions, and an ecosystem of specialized tools that can connect directly into ChatGPT.

For us, the exciting part is not simply being included in a major AI launch.

It is what the architecture represents.

The future of legal technology is unlikely to be one enormous system that does everything. It will increasingly be an ecosystem: powerful general AI working alongside specialized tools that understand particular problems deeply.

Professional licensing is one of those problems.

A nurse responding to a board complaint does not have the same needs as an attorney reviewing a merger agreement. A psychologist dealing with an investigation is navigating a very different process from a litigation team conducting discovery. Licensing boards have their own procedures, terminology, deadlines, documents, and consequences.

That specialized context is what BoardWise brings.

Through the BoardWise plugin, ChatGPT can connect with tools designed specifically around professional licensing and regulatory board matters, helping make an often confusing corner of the administrative system easier to understand and navigate.

And there is something particularly meaningful about seeing this problem represented alongside the broader legal technology ecosystem.

Professional licensing matters rarely make headlines. They are not billion-dollar transactions or landmark Supreme Court cases. But for the person receiving that letter, the stakes can be enormous. Their ability to practice, earn a living, and continue a career they may have spent decades building can suddenly feel uncertain.

Those people deserve better technology too.

Our inclusion in Astra for Law is another step toward a much larger vision for BoardWise: building better infrastructure for the millions of people who interact with administrative and professional regulatory systems every year.

We started with licensing board paperwork.

We are building toward a world where navigating these systems is clearer, more accessible, and far less intimidating.

And we're proud to have BoardWise be part of what comes next.
